Enzo Pulley, born on April 19, 2007, in Miami, Florida, is a remarkable up-and-coming jazz drummer whose talent belies his age. His journey in music began in elementary school, where he dabbled in piano, cello, and drums before eventually dedicating himself to the drums. His decision to focus on percussion has proven to be a wise one, as he has quickly risen to prominence in the jazz world while still only a junior in high school.
Enzo’s accolades speak volumes about his talent and dedication. He has been honored with YoungArts Awards for Jazz Percussion in both 2023 and 2024, showcasing his exceptional skill and musicality. Additionally, he earned a coveted spot in the 2023 FMEA All-State High School Jazz Band, a testament to his outstanding musicianship.
His performances have taken him to prestigious events such as the Jazz Education Network Conference in 2023 and the Essentially Ellington Competition in 2022 and 2023. At the Essentially Ellington Competition, Enzo’s leadership of the New World School of the Arts rhythm section played a pivotal role in the band’s success, earning them the Outstanding Rhythm Section Award in 2023 and contributing to their top-three placement.
Currently studying under the guidance of Jim Gasior at the New World School of the Arts, Enzo continues to hone his craft and expand his musical horizons. He has had the privilege of performing alongside esteemed musicians such as Mike Rodriguez, Tivon Penicott, Tatum Greenblatt, and Scotty Barnhart, further solidifying his reputation as a rising star in the jazz world. Along with playing with such great musicians he is also a member of the 2024 rendition of the Herbie Hancock National All-Star Peer-to-Peer Quintet with Terell Stafford as a guest for the groups tour of Wyoming.
Enzo’s future aspirations include attending a conservatory to major in jazz performance, where he undoubtedly will continue to make waves in the music industry. With his talent, dedication, and passion for music, Enzo Pulley is poised to leave an indelible mark on the jazz world for years to come.
